KPMG is currently seeking an Associate to join our Federal Advisory practice.
Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate financial risk, financial reporting, and accounting transactions processes including controls related to Federal entities
- Support the development of tools and execute process mapping, visualization, and data analysis activities
- Assist in documenting current and future state of a financial management functions, support change management efforts of transformation and the creation of training documents
- Understand and document key stakeholders, financial organization design and operations, process workflows, and roles & responsibilities
- Review findings, perform root-cause analysis, develop corrective actions, create roadmaps, identify dependencies and risks
- Organize and review financial requests and prepare responses and documentation, including communication with various stakeholders
- Research and Interpret Federal standards, policies, and regulations
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of Federal Financial Management experience
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university; CPA, CGFM, or CDFM certification preferred
- Experience in the preparation, review, and/or analysis of financial statements for U.S. Federal government entities; working knowledge of the USSGL preferred
- Experience analyzing financial and systems processes and controls
- Applicant must possess a U.S. Government Secret clearance
- Must reside within a commutable distance of the office for this position and be responsible for your own transportation, such as personal vehicle or public transportation, to get to and from office / client locations to satisfactorily fulfill your job duties, as determined by your practice leadership
- Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business need. You must be located within the U.S. when working remotely. Client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay
