Position: Behavioral Program Aide (Program Support Staff)

Friendship Circle of Cleveland is seeking enthusiastic, compassionate Behavioral Program Aides to support children with disabilities in our social programs. This role will provide direct support to children and serve as a model and guide for teen volunteers, ensuring a warm, inclusive environment that fosters meaningful friendships. Our programs include Sunday sessions, after-school activities, winter camps, and summer camps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a group leader in social programs, fostering a welcoming and friendly environment for children of all abilities.
  • Provide hands-on support to children with disabilities, encouraging positive interactions with peers and supporting friend-making skills.
  • Assist teen volunteers in their roles by modeling supportive, respectful, and encouraging behavior when engaging with children.
  • Serve as a behavioral aide to children requiring additional support, making individualized modifications to help each child fully participate in programming.
  • Contribute to a positive, can-do team culture focused on inclusion and engagement.

Specific Skills We’re Looking For:

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of each child.
  • Experience working with children (experience with children with disabilities is a plus).
  • Friendly, outgoing personality to help build rapport with children and volunteers alike.
  • Experience supporting children with behavioral needs is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team.

  • Positive, can-do attitude and a strong interest in working with children.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
  • Dedication to supporting an inclusive environment and facilitating positive social interactions.
