Assistant Golf Services & Men's Locker Room Manager
Portage Country Club is seeking a go-getter with a good understanding of the game of golf, and with an eye for detail for our Assistant Golf Services & Locker Room Manager. The Assistant Golf Service & Locker Room Manager coordinates and oversees all club functions related to locker room, turn, and halfway house services. The Assistant Golf Service & Locker Room Manager improves club morale by providing an individualized experience to each member and consistent leadership to our team members.
Essential Job Duties:
As an Assistant Golf Services & Men's Locker Room Manager at Portage Country Club, you will:
- Provides a clean, neat and membership friendly locker room experience.
- Ensures the high-end satisfaction of Golf guests.
- Create and nurture positive member relationships, displaying a pleasant, outgoing, and caring personality and a professional style of dress and personal grooming.
- Assists with hiring, training, and supervising locker room and turn team members. Offer guidance and mentorship through frequent team and individual meetings.
- Lead by example to motivate and empower team members to take on individual responsibility through pre-function meetings, hands-on training, delegation, support, and follow-through.
- Work closely with the Golf Services & Locker Room Manager, Banquet Director, Executive Chef, and House Staff to coordinate event set-up, staffing, and billing requirements.
- Check in with members and guests to inquire about their experience and address any complaints.
- Make sure that all pricing and charges are recorded accurately to the correct member’s account.
- Ensure that the high standards of PCC regarding uniform appearance, hospitality, cleanliness, and service in locker room and turn areas are achieved by all personnel, individually and collectively.
- Oversee keeping the locker rooms and restrooms clean, stocked, and fresh; making sure all items used are restocked, floors are mopped, showers are clean, and delegating or assisting in other housekeeping duties as requested.
- Maintain knowledge of club services, features, upcoming events, and specials.
- Clean and repair shoes for Members and guests as requested.
- Report any broken or non-functioning equipment to Repairs & Maintenance personnel.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and continuously move for the duration of a regular shift.
- Must be able to maneuver, bend, twist, pivot, and navigate stairs.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. or more.
Educational and/or Experience Requirements:
- Golf Experience Highly Preferred
- At least one year of experience working in a hospitality or private club setting is preferred.
- At least one year in a leadership role is preferred.
- Exemplary customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to create an environment that cultivates teamwork and camaraderie among team members.
- Experience with using computers and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
- Overall understanding and knowledge of Food & Beverage Services.
