Senior Energization Policy Analyst - JC-455387
Energy Division / Distribution Planning Branch/Transportation Electrification Section:
Under the close supervision of the Project and Program Supervisor, the senior analyst will support the Transportation Electrification Section in the development of work products that are used to advise and assist high-level decision-makers such as Commissioners, Judges, and Energy Division management. Main responsibilities include:
- Conduct research and technical analyses on complex energy policy and energy market issues with minimal direction.
- Develop creative solutions to complex analytical problems while taking into consideration the market and policy implications.
- Work to develop and refine parts of a complex regulatory proceeding in a team environment while project managing the larger scope.
- Represent the Energy Division and/or the CPUC in various high-profile settings. Collaborate with other state agencies and stakeholders to help achieve statewide clean energy goals.
- Organize and facilitate workshops and/or stakeholder meetings. Prepare workshop reports, as needed.
- Assist Commissioners, their advisors, management and other decision-makers regarding issues in the assigned areas.
- Review and prepare comments on pending legislation and respond to inquiries from the public and legislative staff.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, ability to manage complex multi-disciplinary projects, lead teams of analysts, perform well under pressure and demonstrate creativity and problem-solving abilities.
