Medical Assistant

This position is for a medical assistant for a Chicago based home physician company that provideshome physician visits to patients in the Chicago land area and surrounding suburbs. We are looking for a medical assistant to join our medical practice. This would be a great opportunity for highly motivated college seniors and college graduates with experience or interest in the healthcare field and who have an aptitude to learn quickly and work efficiently.

Expectations:

- Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and prioritizing skills are a must

- Prior experience in healthcare field is not required; orientation/training available to all

- Phlebotomy skills are a plus

Responsibilities may include:

- Assisting physicians with patient home visits 

- Completing daily medical office tasks, including:

--- scheduling patients for appointments

--- calling in medication refills as directed by a physician

--- communicating with nurses and physicians with a basic understanding of medical terminology and completing administrative tasks related to patient nursing care

--- reporting critical lab results to physicians

--- ordering medical supplies for patients

--- setting up patient appointments with other medical specialists
