Human Resources Intern

Invitation Homes 10-week summer internship offers college students a unique paid internship with opportunities for personal and professional development, community outreach, an executive speaker series and intern specific events.  Our interns deliver innovative solutions to real business challenges and build enduring relationships with their manager and assigned mentor. 

 

Invitation Homes is pioneering a new and exciting industry, positioned as the premier provider of single-family homes for lease in the country.  We are looking for dynamic and innovative students to join our summer internship program that is scheduled for June 2, 2025 through August 8, 2025. Our ideal candidate will be able to start the internship early to help prepare for the incoming intern class.

 

The Human Resources Intern will have the opportunity for broad exposure and experience to a variety of HR career opportunities. This intern will have valuable, hands-on experience in supporting various key projects to impact organization wide talent initiatives.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Will work on essential talent management projects that are impactful to organization-wide talent initiatives. 
  • Have exposure in succession planning, performance management, talent reviews, career development, and leadership development, among other strategic projects.
  • In addition to the Talent Management team, the HR Intern will partner other cross-functional teams including HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and Diversity & Inclusion.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

 

Education and/or Experience

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher at a 4-year accredited university in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, or other related field

 

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • 0 to 2 years of related experience and accountability for simple to moderately complex tasks and/or projects
  • Innate collaborator with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical thinker with complex problem-solving skills
  • Attitude for effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously while operating in a proactive mode to drive solutions & timelines

 

Other Requirements

  • Travel may be required: rare
  • Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis
