The Dayton Police Department is now hiring entry-level police recruits! You'll attend our police academy for comprehensive training and receive a salary with full benefits while you train. Ride along opportunities are available.

Dayton Police Job Summary
The Police Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining public safety and enforcing laws within the community. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to protecting lives and property, preventing crime, and upholding the law with integrity and professionalism. Officers will engage with the community, respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, and collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe environment for all citizens.

Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents.
- Conduct thorough investigations of crimes, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
- Enforce laws and regulations, issuing citations or making arrests as necessary.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, arrests, and investigations.
- Engage with community members to foster trust and cooperation.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies on joint operations.
- Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills in criminal investigation, leadership, and law enforcement practices.

Qualifications:

Valid drivers license

High School diploma or G.E.D.

College Degree bonus pay incentive

Must be 20 years old in order to take the entry-level assessment and no older than 69 years of age.
