Location: Hybrid with weekly office hours at Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin in Madison, WI
Duration: January 21, 2025 - May 2, 2025
Hours: 10-15 hours per week

Position Description: As the Marketing & Communications Intern, you will work closely with our Marketing Coordinator and Marketing team to analyze our social performance, engage our audience, and contribute to our overall marketing efforts.
Hours: 10-15 hours per week. Schedule is flexible with approximately 2-4 hours per week onsite at the Second Harvest administration office located at 2850 Dairy Drive, Madison WI 53719.
Compensation: $500 stipend available
Work-Related Responsibilities:
- Monitor Social Communities: Monitor interactions and engage with followers to build a strong online community.
- Campaign Support: Help with the planning, execution, and tracking of social media campaigns and other communications.
- Analytics and Reporting: Monitor social media metrics and prepare reports on campaign performance, engagement, and growth.
- Research and Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging platforms, and best practices in social media marketing.
- Collaboration: Work with the marketing team to ensure alignment with brand messaging and overall marketing strategy.
This internship will culminate with an intern-led project on one of the following topics:
- Search engine optimization
- Social media best practices
- Paid search, display, and social advertising
- Market research and persona development
Candidate Qualifications:
- Education: Currently enrolled student or recent graduate with a degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, multimedia, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, and time management, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok); experience with HootSuite, Meta Business, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Attributes: Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Enthusiasm for marketing and a passion for storytelling and analysis.
Additional Requirements: This position requires access to a reliable, personal computer and cell phone.
