SEDA-Council of Governments, an economic development organization serving 11 Central Pennsylvania counties, is seeking a part-time Communications Intern. In this role, you will be given the ability to work with several diverse departments throughout the organization. We believe in making Pennsylvania a better place – and we are looking for an intern who shares that same drive and passion.
Our organization houses nearly a dozen of various departments and fields from transportation services to business finance to export development (and much more). If you are looking to gain hands-on, real-life experience, our diverse organization is the place to gain that knowledge!
Position overview:
- Perform social media marketing research.
- Brainstorm, research and create ideas for original content.
- Create new content utilizing text, photography, and video through the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Canva.
- Oversee, collaborate, and create social media pieces with departments throughout SEDA-COG.
- Measure the performance of social media accounts – help construct a plan to increase engagement on all social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube).
- Assist with/handle press releases for 10+ departments.
- Work collaboratively with each department to enhance brand awareness.
- Assist with planning and coordinating internal and external events.
- Work with the communications/marketing coordinator on internal strategic communications in order to build engagement.
- Assist with the creation of PowerPoint presentations.
Preferred qualifications:
- Applicants should be a Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing major.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva a plus.
- The ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Multi-tasking and excellent communication skills.
