About the Food Allergy Fund: The Food Allergy Fund is the leading nonprofit dedicated to funding food allergy research. FAF aims to identify underlying causes, discover new therapeutics, and improve the lives of all people living with food allergies. Through our ground-breaking research and unique thought leadership summits, we accelerate innovation to find solutions. We are seeking a motivated and dedicated intern to join our team and contribute to our mission.
Position: Intern
Location: New York City or virtual
Responsibilities: As a project fellow at the Food Allergy Fund, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our CEO and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of our organization. Your responsibilities will include:
Research: Conduct research on the latest opportunities and developments to support our programs and initiatives, partnerships, and institutional sources of funding.
Event Planning and Project Management Support: Participate and oversee aspects of the planning, coordination, and execution of events, including fundraisers, awareness campaigns, and conferences.
General Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to ensure the smooth operation of our organization, including managing emails, scheduling, donor follow up, and other tasks as needed.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this internship should possess some background, education, or professional and/or personal experience in the following areas:
Sciences or medical research: A strong interest in or knowledge of scientific research related to food allergies is a plus.
Food allergies: Personal or professional experience with food allergies is highly desirable.
Non-profit development: An understanding of the non-profit sector and its operations is beneficial.
Skills and Qualities:
Strong research skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in relevant software and social media management.
Enthusiasm for our mission to improve the lives of those with food allergies through scientific research and innovation.
