Communication Intern

Part-Time: Tuesdays – Fridays, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. 
Minimum of 20 hours per week (additional hours, including occasional evenings & weekends, may be required for events and projects).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Embrace Playhouse Square values and programs that further Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the department.
  2. Assist with content creation for Playhouse Square social media channels, Playhouse Square blog and grassroots marketing efforts for department.
  3. Conduct research on new and changing publications and media outlets in the area, as well as social media influencer accounts.
  4. Provide support to communications staff including: data entry, filing, assembling digital press kits, scheduling and/or taking notes at meetings, etc.
  5. Assist with on-site media interviews, shoots with Playhouse Square’s multimedia content specialist and Broadway Series media nights.
  6. Assist with press release writing and distribution.
  7. Assist Communications team with media tracking via Sharepoint.
  8. Post Playhouse Square events to online community calendars.
  9. Other special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.       Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

2.       Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

3.       Previous office/administrative experience.

4.       Knowledge of social media practices, as well as video and photography skills

5.       Outgoing, people-oriented person with outstanding interpersonal skills.

6.       Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

7.       Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs.
