Summer Student-Institutional Distribution
Getting to Know the Opportunity:
Voya IM is seeking summer students to support the Institutional Distribution group, including the sales teams, Business Management, and RFP. The role will allow the summer students to gain exposure to senior members of this department, while learning about the asset management industry and Voya specifically. The summer students are expected to work collaboratively with one another, including on a group project over the duration of the program.
The intern will help with our sales efforts through deep research on our prospective clients to help us better identify target prospects and be able to position products based on the client’s needs. The intern will also help to organize and update our Salesforce CRM database, as well as maintaining team pipelines and producing regular reporting. Please Note: This position has been designated as a hybrid-office/home role. Details of your in-office schedule will be finalized with your manager.
The Contributions You'll Make:
• Improve sales accuracy by updating key data in Client Relationship Management (CRM) system
• Use internal and external information to update contact info and bios of key personnel
• Streamline process for sending targeted mailings by tagging contacts with their functional roles (investment committee, consulting, research, etc.) and focus area (FI, Equity, General, etc.)
• Research clients who use external consultants to understand how our client’s organizations work together
• Analyze financial statements of prospective clients to understand how this information helps sales team determine opportunity and aid in client prioritization
• Compile materials to prepare sales for client meetings and track follow-up items for clients based on meeting specifics
• Assist team in creating repeatable process for using client segmentation for product specific sales strategies, and help implement solutions for identified data gaps
• Other duties as assigned
Preferred Knowledge & Experience:
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in a related field
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational, project management skills and attention to detail
• Customer focused and a passion for excellence
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft business software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, etc.)
