Project Management Intern

We are seeking summer interns studying Project Management or related Engineering field to join our team.     

In this role, you will be working closely with the Giffin Design/Mechanical/Electrical engineering teams, assisting in the coordination of resources to manage paint finishing projects effectively.  

 Typical Responsibilities:       

  • Assist with accurate and timely project documentation for Scopes of Work, Schedules, cost related issues between Customer, Giffin project team and Subcontractors/Vendors. 
  • Engage in continuous reviews of drawing content regarding cost, fit for purpose, good engineering practices, design and installation. 
  • Assist with monitoring site set up, resource planning and budget.
  • Assist in Developing Scopes of Work with the Engineering Team
  • Observe budgets for all project related items. 
  • Assist with reviewing addendums or new Purchase Orders. 
  • Participate in Project Review Meetings and monthly financial projections.  Assist with developing projections for the End of Job Cost Forecast. 
  • Maintain ISO/QOS company documentation requirements

 Requirements:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Project Management or Engineering.  
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week
  • Completed, at minimum, Sophomore year
  • Interest in Manufacturing and Construction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Physical Requirements: 

Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

Must be willing to work within active construction sites

Must be able to conduct vendor visits and project site visits including the use of PPE and ability to tour facilities which may include multi-floor levels. 

Must be physically able to walk long distances and traverse construction ground conditions
