Personal and Professional assistant for Decorative Arts Dealer

Personal and professional assistant needed to work closely with a private Decorative Arts Dealer and assist in all business and personal needs.

• Must be a trusted individual with experience handling confidential information and exercising discretion.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to multitask.

• Must be available to work in NYC travel to New Jersey’s warehouse and at times works remotely.

• Manage calendar, book appointments, make travel arrangements, and assist with the planning of future events, fairs, and exhibitions.

• Create and stay on top of to-do lists, provide the founder with status updates, and chase answers.

• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

• Make arrangements with different vendors for the moving of pieces when sold, or when they are going to an auction.

• Create invoices, memos of pieces purchased.

• Savvy with internet research

• Must be able to deal with insurance claims, order products on amazon, and on different websites, track and follow up on orders.

• Update inventory when pieces are purchased and sold.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Acrobat)

• Must be able to take high quality photos, and retouch them when required.

• Must be able to create and modify PDFs.

• Experience with Art database platforms.

• Create tear sheets of incoming pieces by researching the history of each piece, taking measurements and pictures.

• The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in an art-related field, experience in an art gallery, and would want to work in the decorative arts; be fluent in Mac OS and MS Office; have experience using Photoshop; have strong verbal, writing, organizational, and time management skills; and be a self-starter who is able to work independently and collaboratively
