Social Media Intern

Job Title: Social Media Intern

Position Overview:

We are looking for a creative and proactive Social Media Intern to join our team remotely. This individual will play a critical role in supporting our content efforts across various platforms and contribute to the company’s online presence. Working closely with the Director of Content Development and the Content Creation team, the intern will help us respond to evolving social media trends while ensuring our messaging aligns with our mission: To help leaders lead. 

This is a part-time, paid, remote position that offers hands-on experience with a dynamic organization making a social impact. 

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Content Creation & Curation:
    1. Develop and schedule engaging posts (text, images, and videos) across social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook).
    2. Collaborate with members of the Content Creation Team to create graphics, short videos, and other multimedia assets using design tools like Canva or Adobe Express and PlayPlay.
    3. Research and help curate content relevant to leadership, capacity building, and strategic planning.
  2. Community Engagement:
    1. Engage with followers, respond to comments, and foster discussions that align with Symphonic Strategies’ mission.
    2. Monitor trends and participate in online conversations related to leadership, business strategy, and capacity building.
  3. Analytics & Reporting: 
    1. Track performance metrics (engagement, reach, growth) and provide regular reports to the Director of Content Development.
    2. Analyze social media trends to identify new opportunities for content creation and audience engagement.
  4. Campaign Support:
    1. Collaborate on content campaigns that promote the company’s training programs, webinars, and resources.
    2. Assist with digital marketing efforts, including hashtag strategy, SEO for posts, and brand storytelling.
  5. General
    1. Attend any relevant meetings with the Content Creation team, as needed.

Requirements: 

  1. Experience:
    1. Previous internship, coursework, or 2-3 years’ experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
    2. Experience (1 + years) managing or creating content for social media platforms (either personal or professional accounts).
    3. Minimum of 1 year of experience editing videos including finding b-roll, images, and audio to build out videos.
  2. Skills:
    1. Proficiency with social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter/X, and Facebook.
    2. Familiarity with email marketing and/or social media management tools (e.g., HubSpot, Hootsuite, etc.).
    3. Basic knowledge of graphic design and video creation/editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express, Synthesia or PlayPlay).
    4. Strong writing skills with an ability to adapt tone and messaging for different audiences.
    5. Strong creative eye for visual storytelling.
    6. Capability to work independently, follow directions, and meet deadlines.
    7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    8. Exceptional attention to detail.
  3. Knowledge & Abilities:
    1. Understanding of video production workflows and processes.
    2. Knowledge of best practices for engaging audiences and optimizing video.
    3. Understanding of trends in social media and digital communication.
    4. Ability to interpret social media analytics and suggest improvements.
    5. Knowledge of inclusive language and practices that resonate with diverse audiences.
    6. A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills to work effectively in a remote team environment.
    7. Knowledge of visual effects and animation techniques.
    8. Ability to adapt quickly to evolving projects and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
