Compliance Intern


Job Description

The JM Family College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program, you will actively contribute to your team’s success, learn about JM Family’s companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities, networking events and much more.

 

The ideal candidate will be available to work full time hours during the Summer Internship Program (May 27, 2025 - August 1, 2025).

 

The Compliance Intern will gain experience working on projects and tasks that relate to regulatory compliance, controls testing, and vendor management as well as projects supporting companywide initiatives.  This internship will provide opportunities for personal and professional development while working in a collaborative team environment.
 

Responsibilities: 

Participate and contribute as an active member of the JM Family’s Intern Program team.

Attend and participate in Legal and Compliance department and compliance team meetings.

Assist with compliance testing of business processes and controls.

Participate in the vendor assessment process by review questionnaire responses and supporting documentation and assisting with the identification of issues and risks and recommendations to strengthen controls.

Assist with the development of a Compliance Intranet space for company-wide access to Compliance information and resources.

Assist with state exams by compiling sample data requests, reviewing for accuracy and completeness, and drafting responses to inquiries.   

Participate in various special projects.

 

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will be available to work full-time on-site/hybrid at our Deerfield Beach, FL or Mobile, AL offices for the duration of our 10-week summer program. Other work for the remainder of the internship can be done remotely.

Actively enrolled in a Bachelor or Graduate degree seeking program at an accredited college or university with a focus in accounting, finance, or a business-related field.

Prior internship, professional work experience a plus.

Candidates should be detail oriented and have strong analytical abilities, as well a strong verbal and written communication skills. 

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

High level of integrity is required due to the confidential nature of the information the intern will be exposed to in the Legal and Compliance Department.
