Summary Statement

The position in this class series observes and reports table game activities, inspects gaming equipment to determine compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures, and assists in monitoring cage, count room, and surveillance activities. Physical work location is Bally's Dover Casino. Please note that the incumbent in this position is classified as essential. An essential employee is defined as, “An employee who is indispensable to the emergency service function of his or her employing Agency or department and who is required to assist the Agency in meeting its operational needs during Severe Weather Conditions and Emergencies.”

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.  Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.

  • Observes and verifies that rules of the table games are adhered to by casino employees and patrons. 
     
  • Observes and ensures that regulations are being followed in the cage, count room, and surveillance operations. 
     
  • Observes and ensures that the table drop is done properly and drop boxes are transported safely to the count room. 
     
  • Observes and ensures that the table games soft count is properly accounted for.
     
  • Verifies table inventory discrepancies over one hundred dollars. 
     
  • Inspects table game equipment and reserves; approves use prior to being used on the casino gaming floor.
     
  • Checks that gaming facility employees possess valid licenses and displays badges properly.
     
  • Documents patron complaints and disputes regarding application of rules and operation of games not resolved by casino staff.
     
  • Reviews gaming facility self reports of regulatory violations.
     
  • Interprets and applies applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
     
  • Maintains and updates records and logs and prepares a variety of reports.

 JOB REQUIREMENTS for Gaming Inspector I
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Six months experience in record keeping.
  2. Six months experience in applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
  3. Six months experience in narrative report writing.
  4. Knowledge of regulatory or gaming compliance work.
