Overview

Shurtape Technologies, LLC, is a leading manufacturer of adhesive tape used throughout the Industrial MRO, Packaging and Professional Channels. Our brands are stocked and sold under the Shurtape, Frog, and T-Rex brands exclusively through our North American distribution network. Shurtape’s stated purpose is to provide better, easier solutions for everyday workplace tasks.

The role of the Shurtape Summer Intern for Industrial Sales will be to drive product awareness, distributor engagement, and promotional activation. Markets involved will include but not limited to: Marine, Construction, HVAC, Automotive, Packaging, and Industrial MRO.

Hybrid schedule- Tues/Weds/Thurs in office

Responsibilities

 include, but are not limited to:

Contacting both Shurtape Distribution Partners and End Use Customers via phone, email, and social media.

  • Introduce the Shurtape family of Industrial brands to our targeted customers
  • Promote new products and promotional specials
  • Work with the Sales and Customer Service teams to establish and/or re-activate distribution partnerships
  • Assist Packaging Sales and Marketing Teams with promotion and deployment of Packaging Machinery and ShurSEAL programs
  • Assist in development of sales tools in MSOffice Suite (Excel, Word, PP) and/or Prezi to assist in promoting the Packaging Channel product lines

Examples: Presentations; Proposals; ROI, Value-Added, and Profitability Calculators

Assist in coordinating marketing content development including videos and images highlighting features and benefits of automated packaging products

Assist product and channel managers with packaging equipment set up for customer demonstration

  • Learn product assortment for Marine and Automotive
  • Real interaction with local customers including sampling, looking at applications and understanding path to purchas
  • Inside Sales/Tele-Marketing
  • Absorb target list
  • Call prospects
  • Qualify interest
  • Send samples
  • Transfer qualified leads to distributors
  • Follow up with distributors to see if they called the leads and closed the business
  • Utilize Salesforce and other systems to track and record the entire process

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

  • How to effectively connect with both End Users and Distribution within the Industrial market place
  • Techniques for aligning and supporting the sales efforts of Shurtape’s Sales Outside sales team
  • Effective promotional tactics for new product introduction
  • The use of proven prospecting tools in the pursuit of targeted markets via D&B Hoovers
  • The use of salesforce.com

Qualifications

  • Graduate or working toward college degree.
  • Outgoing and professional personality that will effectively connect with current and prospective customers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to customers via phone, email, salesforce.com, along with internal counterparts and Shurtape management.
  • Driven personality with an outlook to win as we compete for both mind and market share within the Industrial tape market.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to work in front of computer for extended periods of time
  • Occasional standing, sitting, walking, and talking on the phone

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a fast-paced work environment with consistent pressure to complete duties as outlined above which requires ability to manage multiple projects at a detailed level and provide support to many internal departments in a fast-changing environment.  Many duties listed above are time-sensitive and have strict deadlines for completion.
