Summary: The Corporate Wellness Intern will assist with the management and implementation of the Agency’s wellness program. The intern will work independently and as part of a team to implement and manage a comprehensive and sustainable wellness program, focused on improving the health and well-being of employees and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and executing comprehensive wellness programs to promote mental and physical, financial, spiritual and social well-being that enhances the well-being of employees.
- Assist in the management of the Agency Wellness Portal, FitThumb.
- Facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly wellness events on FitThumb.
- Research data, prepare handouts/materials, use scheduling tools, and coordinate events to ensure effective wellness program delivery.
- Develop and promote wellness programs through flyers, emails, newsletters, and website content using tools like Canva and Outlook.
- Provide monthly educational information aligned with the Wellness Calendar to employees.
- Evaluate program initiatives, analyze outcomes, report results, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Participate as a member of the Agency Wellness Committee.
- Assist in managing the Agency Wellness e-mail box in an effective and timely manner.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the wellness program.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in developing the strategic vision for health and wellness initiatives.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and other departments to integrate wellness initiatives with broader organizational goals.
- Manage wellness program budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Promote awareness and participation in wellness programs through various engagement strategies.
- Use data analytics to assess program impact and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with external vendors and partners for wellness services.
- Provide educational resources and materials to encourage healthy lifestyle choices.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Track and report on wellness program metrics and goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a college student in good academic standing or a recent graduate (within one year) majoring in Public Health, Exercise Science, Public Administration, Human Resources, or related fields.
- Must be able to work 24 hours a week for the duration of the co-op.
- Must have the cognitive skills needed to complete tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for decision making, problem solving, and comprehending.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and address problems and complaints professionally.
