Direct Support Professional

As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of those we serve. Your duties will include, but are not limited to, maintaining a clean and safe living environment, meal preparation, completing various light household tasks, assisting with personal skill development, providing personal care assistance, offering companionship, and transporting clients to personal appointments and community outings.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

- Assists clients supported with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, etc. - Fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their housemates. - May provide transportation to daily appointments, work, day programs, recreation events and stores as needed. - Maintains records in accordance with company policy and procedures. This includes documentation related to service delivery, progress notes, changes in health and emotional condition or other significant events. - Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment. - Maintains a clean, safe and orderly environment for the people supported. Performs general housekeeping. - Performing home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making and cleaning. - Planning, preparing and serving meals including clean-up. - Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: - Ability to work in a group home, home-like settings. - Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company. - Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and walking for periods of time. - Capable of working responsibly with confidential information. - Must maintain state regulatory CPR and Medication certifications paid for by company, as required by state/program requirements.

Education Requirements: - High school diploma equivalent (GED)

Experience / Qualification: - 18 years of age or older. - Experience preferred though not required. - Must meet all agency requirements for pre-employment as required by A Place To Be Residential Care Services and/or state regulations.

License/Certification (Preferred) - Valid Driver’s license/Insurance

Travel Requirements: Travel between job sites.

Availability: Full time and part time: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Shifts. Sunday through Saturday.

Wage: $14.50 to $15.00/hour.

Pre-Employment Testing: Criminal Background Check, Driving Record Check, and Reference Check.
