Under general direction of the Branch Manager - Southern Region, the Prison Industries Manager (General) is responsible for supervision of the operations at Centinela State Prison (CEN) and Calipatria State Prison (CAL). Employees will have regular and substantial contact with persons incarcerated in California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation institution and/or medical facilities.

Monthly Salary: $7,586 - $9,430 plus state benefits for you and your family, and CalPers retirement 

Position may receive a $2,600 annual Recruitment and Retention (R&R) Bonus.
This position may receive a 5% monthly lead bonus.

Minimum Qualifications? Experience: Two years of experience in an industrial or agricultural program as a vice president of production, plant manager, industrial or systems engineer, or a closely related managerial position. and

Education: Equivalent to completion of two years of college (60�semester units). (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Experience with planning, facilitating, designing, organizing, and implementing various products and services.
• Budget experience: cost accounting, fiscal management, budget procedures and inventory management.
• Experience with employee supervision and training.
• Health and safety experience (i.e., OSHA, manufacturing & warehouse safety regulations, IIPP)
• Production and inventory management experience.
• Computer Experience: Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Salesforce, ERP, SAGE, etc.
• Current or prior state employment experience in a correctional setting.
• Experience facilitating and enforcing departmental HR policies within an organization (i.e., hiring processes, progressive discipline, leave management, training, etc.)
• Experience effectively communicating with internal and external agencies/stakeholders regarding policy development, adherence and enforcement.
