Horse Care Instructors & Petting Zoo Manager

Work at a premier coed camp this summer!

HORSE CARE INSTRUCTORS & PETTING ZOO MANAGER 

* We are seeking hard-working instructors who are qualified to teach horse care and manage the petting zoo. 

* Our Horse Care staff includes 20 instructors who have certification in equine studies or experience teaching horsemanship classes to children of all abilities. Instructors teach both English & Western styles from beginner to advanced levels to children of all ages.

* Horse Care Staff is responsible for barn cleanliness (including mucking-out, sweeping, etc); health & care of our horses (including feeding, watering, grooming, tacking, walking-out); daily class assignments (ring instruction, trail rides); health & care of our petting zoo animals; tack & equipment care; maintain high-level safety standards & proper supervision at all times. 

* Certification in first-aid and CPR is also recommended.

* Instructors & Managers are trained, evaluated, and qualified by our Horsemanship Director prior to the campers' arrival. 

* Horsemanship Director is CHA certified (or equivalent) and has documented experience managing an Equestrian Program, including supervising staff, organizing classes, maintaining the facility, and caring for the horses.  

EQUESTRIAN PROGRAM

* Horse-care instruction

* Petting zoo (miniature horses, goats, calf, bunnies) 

* Horseback Riding in English & Western styles

* Instruction from beginner to advanced levels

* Horse jumping

* Trail rides

* Intercamp horse shows

* Intracamp horse shows

* Evening trail rides

* Horseback overnights

EQUESTRIAN CENTER FEATURES

* Stables 

* 20 horses

* 2 instructional riding rings

* Variety of jumps

* Wooded pastures

* 5 miles of scenic horse trails

* Horseback overnight site

* 4 mini barns at petting zoo for miniature horses, goats, calf, bunnies.
