Logistics Account Manager

Based at: DSF Logistics, LLC 5000 Quorum Drive Dallas, TX

Reports to: POD lead & Jim Johnston, Vice President

Job Purpose Summary:

DSF Logistics is part of an asset based family of companies that has been in the transportation and logistics industry for nearly 50 years. We are currently searching for motivated and energetic individuals to join our growing Freight Brokerage Team in Addison, TX. Logistics Account Manager will be working to develop, manage, and grow a book of business as a freight broker using the tools, resources, and training provided for you through DSF Logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for building a profitable book of business and achieving sales goals while successfully managing multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • Generate leads and contact new and existing prospects through cold calling, emailing, networking, and referrals.
  • Building relationships with customers and carriers through high level communication with your customers and prospects and provide efficient solutions to meet their needs.
  • Research and maintain a keen understanding of the various spot markets and trends to provide competitive quotes to your customers and prospects.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management and operation teams to ensure that customer needs are understood and supported.
  • Work diligently with new and existing software and tools to ensure that all work and data is updated and accurate.
  • Process customer information and order entry quickly and diligently to ensure a proper workflow to accounting.
  • Utilize McLeod Software in accordance with company policy, expectations, and direction from senior management.
  • Continue to meet and exceed goals set for you of growth in gross profit $, gross margin %, acquisition of new accounts, new lanes/locations, and load count goals as directed by management.

BENEFITS: Logistics Account Manager

Salary: $45,000.00 - $55,000 / year paid weekly

Commissions: Commissions on first dollar on top of base, scaling 5%-15% between 1$-40k$+ on billed margins. No seat cost or cap.

Additional 1st year bonuses:

$2500 bonus, if broker achieves 15k in GP in single month within first 3 months

$2500 bonus, if broker achieves 30k GP in single month within first 6 months

Health Insurance: Blue Cross – Blue Shield eligible after 60 days

Flexible Benefits: All State coverage – employee choice at employee’s expense via payroll deduction.

Vacation: 13 work days per calendar year (first year prorated, no roll over). Within first 90 days of employment absences, approved or otherwise, will be unpaid time off, subject to review and approval.

Retirement Savings: Eligibility to enroll in 401K after 12 months of employment

Work from Dallas office: Unless instructed otherwise, this position reports to the Dallas office and is expected to keep the working hours from 7:30am-4:30pm Monday through Friday. Major holiday’s will be observed, and expectation is 40 hours per week.

Equipment: Applicable software licenses (e.g load boards, and McLeod), company equipment including laptop computer, monitors, and desk phone will be provided.

Pre-Employment Contingencies: The offer is contingent upon a successful background check which may include references, credit and criminal pre-screening checks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
