Marketing & Communications Intern
Want an internship with meaning? Intern at the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan (MHF)! The MHF is dedicated to empowering individuals to take action through their signature program, be nice., which focuses on mental health education and suicide prevention. Their mission is to reduce stigma, promote awareness, and encourage positive behaviors that impact the well-being of communities. As an intern, you’ll be part of a passionate team working to spread this message through schools, businesses, and community groups, helping to create environments where mental health is prioritized and individuals feel supported. This opportunity allows students to gain real-world experience while contributing to an essential cause that changes and saves lives.
At the MHF interns will work on meaningful, real-world projects that directly contribute to our mission. Through hands-on experiences in communications, you’ll gain valuable skills and practical knowledge, preparing you for a future in the marketing, nonprofit sector or beyond. This is an opportunity to make a real impact while developing your professional expertise in a dynamic, supportive environment.
Because we invest significant time and effort in mentoring and training our interns, we ask for a reciprocal commitment from you. To ensure you gain the full benefit of this experience, we request that interns commit to a six to eight-month internship. This allows for deeper learning, meaningful contributions, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact within our organization.
This internship will run from January 2025 – June/August 2025, up to 20 hours per week. While the internship is not paid on an hourly basis, MHF will give the intern a $500 stipend upon the internship’s completion.
