Social Media Intern

Position Overview

LiteWork Events is seeking a talented and creative Social Media Intern to help amplify our brand and grow our digital presence. The ideal candidate is a social media enthusiast with a passion for storytelling, content creation, and community building. This role will be responsible for crafting engaging content, expanding our reach, and keeping our followers informed about upcoming events and highlights. The Social Media Intern will work closely with our event coordinators.

Experience with or an interest in multicultural, diverse communities is important.

Responsibilities

  • Create and curate engaging content for LiteWork Events’ social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • Develop social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and followers.
  • Live-post during events to capture key moments and promote event activities in real time (when available)
  • Collaborate with the photography team to incorporate high-quality event photos into social media posts.
  • Assist in developing monthly content calendars to plan and organize posts.
  • Research and stay up-to-date with social media trends to keep content fresh and relevant.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices, particularly Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to adopt the LiteWork Events brand voice.
  • Experience with social media tools (e.g., Canva, Later, Hootsuite) is a plus.
  • Creative eye for graphic design and photo editing is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for event coverage.
