Digital Communications Coordinator

The Wayne County Foundation team is seeking a dynamic and creative self-starter to assist in our digital and social media communications efforts for the Foundation and Forward Wayne County. Read below for the full details.

Key responsibilities of the Digital Communications Coordinator:

  • Communicate the work of the Wayne County Foundation, FWC, partners and the community through monthly newsletters, social media and targeted campaigns.
  • Develop monthly social media content and graphics, including scheduling of posts.
  • Conduct online engagement with social media audience to include being responsive to questions, comments, and shares/like, etc.
  • Write blog posts monthly, and special communications as needed. We want to tell the stories of Wayne County and our donors.
  • Assist the Director of Nonprofit Engagement with planning, promoting, and organizing events throughout the year.
  • Assist the Foundation team with the annual report and specific donor relation communications as needed.
  • Dig into the web sites and offer ideas for updates and improvements.
  • Collaborate with staff on new ideas for community engagement.
  • Manage yourself- your time, your work flow, and projects.
  • Manage and update the progress of key performance metrics using our online dashboards, as well as on our web sites.
  • Occasionally tackle a few mundane and not fun projects.

Our Ideal Candidate is:

  • A creative and a writer, because you will be doing a lot of both.
  • Demonstrated use of a wide variety of social media platforms (bonus if you have graphic design skills) and scheduling platforms.
  • More knowledgeable about WordPress than we are.
  • Able to take on multiple projects with ease and confidence.
  • Quick with data and reporting.
  • Good attitude, good work ethic, a team player, self-managed.

Minimum skills, abilities and knowledge:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional work experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • An effective communicator, both written and oral.
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, timely, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Strong skills with a variety of social media platforms, and how to create appropriate content.
  • Working knowledge of G-Suite, Microsoft Office, Zoom or Teams, Adobe Creative Cloud, MailChimp, and Eventbrite.

What you need to know about working at the Foundation:

  • Confidentiality is key. You’ll be required to sign the paperwork.
  • We are small. You will be number 7.
  • You will be expected to manage your work day and projects. We won’t micro-manage.
  • We work hard, but like to have fun doing so.
  • Full-time with hourly wage range between $17.75 – 21.50
  • Company provides health insurance, paid vacation and sick time, along with other benefits.

Other thoughts for candidates to consider:

  • This is not a remote position, but does have flexibility.
  • Candidates should have a connection with or be very familiar with Wayne County, Indiana.
