Position Title:                  Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Intern

 

Location:                           Hybrid: Remote/Onsite at WGA I ESF Headquarters in Glenview, IL 

 

Supervisor:                       Lindsay Dresser, Senior Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

 

Term:                                 May – Aug., 2025 (start and end date flexible), 40 hours per week

 

Compensation:                Hourly rate of $15/hour

Job Description

WGA I ESF is seeking Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Intern. This role will have primary accountability to promote a diverse and inclusive culture in all facets of the organization, including but not limited current Evans Scholars, WGA/ESF Staff, Youth Caddies, Volunteer Leadership, and Tournaments. The DEI Intern will report to the Senior Director of DEI.

Position Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to experience a wide range of responsibilities related to DEI, including:

  • Assist in supporting current Evans Scholars serving on E-Board as VP, DEI
  • Oversee monthly staff newsletter
  • Coordinate annual Young Women Caddie Summit
  • Aid in coordinating panels, DEI workshops, and education sessions with WGA I Staff, WGA Caddie Academies, and Caddie Scholar Prep as needed 
  • Attend DEI committee and all-staff meetings
  • Review forms and documents to ensure inclusive language
  • Gather and input demographic data as needed
  • Assist in creative ideas for leveraging DEI initiatives
  • Attend local championship tournaments as needed
  • Participate in additional projects to support DEI initiatives 

Education: 

  • Pursuing a degree or relevant experience in Communications, Business, Marketing, Human Resources, Management, DEI, or similar field.  
  • DEI Certification a plus

Knowledge and Skills Required: 

  • Passion for and commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive environment.
  • Demonstrated desire to build a culture of belonging. 

Competencies 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with project management 
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills 
  • Detail oriented with strong organization and time management skills
  • Eagerness to build and maintain effective working relationships 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with diverse teams 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams)
  • Willingness to travel to events and championship sites as needed
