2025 Summer Intern, Business Development

Position Summary

The 10-week, paid internship program is an opportunity to expand your knowledge of business development and project management responsibilities. You will support our business development team in identifying new opportunities and sourcing merger candidates for Focus’s Partner Firms. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience while working in a dynamic environment. Focus offers an emphasis on training, and our history of hiring and promoting from within make the Internship Program a unique opportunity.

This role is based in Austin, TX. After a successful summer, subsequent full-time opportunities will exist in New York, NY, or Austin, TX.

Primary Responsibilities

·         Support team with sourcing and maintaining relationships with principals of wealth and business management firms

·         Assist outreach efforts through various lead generating channels and deal pipeline management

·         Collaborate with team members to review and analyze financial data from prospects, developing financial proposals for merger opportunities

·         Participate in market research analysis to refine business development strategies for improved M&A outcomes

·         Organize and plan trips for senior team members to meet potential partners

·         Coordinate team projects including Partner Firm initiatives, firm retreats, meetings and growth projects

 

Qualifications

·         Current students enrolled in an undergraduate program, graduating between Winter 2025 – Summer 2026

·         Demonstrated track record of academic success and/or professional pursuits

·         High degree of personal and professional maturity

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·         Strong organizational and prioritization skills

·         Intellectual curiosity and confidence to take initiative

·         Exceptional work ethic and a deep sense of accountability

·         Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

·         Interest in wealth management
