Development Manager

DEVELOPMENT MANAGER | FULL TIME | Atlanta, GA
 

Liberty Classical Schools (LCS) seeks a full-time Development Manager to work with the advancement team to help Liberty and its schools raise funds and tell the story of how classical education is making a difference in the lives of our students, our community, and our nation. The advancement team drives the initiatives of Liberty Classical Schools and provides strategic support for multiple school campuses located in Kennesaw, Atlanta, and Fayetteville.

The Development Manager will work with the Chief Advancement Officer to establish and manage a comprehensive development program to include annual giving, major gift fundraising, planned giving, and support as needed for school-level campaigns. This position would report to the Chief Advancement Officer at Liberty’s Atlanta office.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Increase the number of LCS donors by developing and implementing strategies for identifying and engaging new prospects.
  • Reach donor retention goals with cultivation and stewardship plans for key donors and prospects.
  • Participate in the preparation and execution of moves management plans for supporters across revenue streams.
  • Secure annual and major gifts.
  • Establish and implement a calendar of donor communications and campaigns.
  • Plan special events that connect supporters to the mission of LCS.
  • Support the president, chief advancement officer, and board members to fully engage in fundraising efforts.
  • Manage foundation relations and ensure that proposals and final reports are submitted on time.
  • Assist in developing necessary materials for foundations and prospects, including grant proposals, letters of intent, and follow-up materials.
  • Assist CAO with supporting campus Community Engagement Managers.
  • Work with the Development Database and Operation Manager to
    • ensure records are up to date and acknowledgment policies are followed.
    • research prospects and prepare materials for donor meetings.

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of fundraising experience; experience with prospect identification and donor acquisition
  • Deep appreciation and understanding of the school’s founding vision and mission and the ability to inspire internal and external constituents;
  • Superlative written and speaking skills;
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a complex environment;
  • Extreme discretion, attention to detail and commitment to excellence;
  • Knowledge of advancement best practices;
  • Experience working in databases (Raiser's Edge preferred)
