Job Announcement – Intern
The Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage and Family Therapist Board's primary responsibility is to protect the citizens of the State of Ohio through the establishment of licensure and practice standards for the professional practice of counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, art therapy and music therapy.
The Board is seeking an intern to conduct research and analysis to support the Board’s efforts to provide support to our investigations staff, identify potential changes to Board processes, and other core priorities. The intern who fills this position will report to the Chief of Investigations and will be expected to work approximately 16 hours per week during the school year and summer. Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Reviewing and organizing investigative documents; assisting in the assessment of complaints
- Providing support to Investigators as requested
- Interpreting and communicating legislation, administrative code and state policy related to the professions regulated by the Board
- Working with staff to plan for Board meetings
- Presenting research results in written and visual formats to Board Members, staff, and stakeholders
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in baccalaureate or graduate degree program. Preferred fields of study include criminal justice, law, public policy, social science, political science, or a related field.
Desired Qualities:
- Interested in criminal justice, public policy and research, with an emphasis on regulation and licensure
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Capable of working independently and in a team setting
- Self-motivated
- Ability to write and communicate succinctly and clearly
- Flexible and adaptable to fluctuating circumstances
Additional Information:
- This position is in Columbus, Ohio and compensation is up to $20.00 hourly for undergraduate students and $24.00 hourly for graduate students. Remote work options will be considered.
