IT and Video Systems Coordinator

Hours, Salary and Benefits: The position is full-time hourly with weekday evenings and occasional weekend hours. Starting wage of $23-26/hour commensurate with experience, skills, education and training. Generous benefits included.

Job Description: IT and Video Systems Coordinator is a creative problem solver with hands-on experience or willingness to engage in video engineering, desktop support, along with system and networking administration to provide comprehensive technical services to CCTV and all of its projects. This position works closely with the team to build, maintain, and support our multimedia operations for all of CCTV’s projects.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • No education degree required.
  • Experience in all of the following listed is not required, professional development in many of these skills is an expected part of this position.
  • Experience with A/V production engineering for both mobile and permanent setups including hybrid video engineering.
  • Experience with desktop support for Mac and PC operating systems.
  • Ability to plan, design, implement and follow up on technical system installations in a timely manner.
  • Familiarity and experience with editing software (such as Adobe Creative Cloud), remote meeting software (such as Zoom), and other online video platforms (such as YouTube).
  • Familiarity with streaming production, using OBS and RTMP(S) based solutions.
  • Experience with at least 4 of the following: FFmpeg, Open Broadcast Encoder, Open Broadcast Studio (OBS), NewTek NDI Protocol, and Haivision Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) Protocol.
  • Some experience administering NewTek Tricaster and/or Tricaster Advanced Live Switching software a plus, or ability to learn.
  • Understanding basic website design, functionality, and maintenance. Drupal, HTML/CSS, Javascript, are all part of the current systems.
  • Basic Command Line Interface Skills on Windows, Linux, and MacOs
  • Familiarity with Nginx for HTTPS delivery and reverse proxy.
  • Basic knowledge of IP networking.
  • Knowledge of Digital Video standards, codecs, and container formats.
  • Familiarity with SDI Video, Analog Video are both helpful.
  • Familiarity with NFS and SMB network-based file sharing.
  • Experience with audio mixers and troubleshooting studio and broadcast related audio issues.
  • Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills; able to find solutions when the solution is not immediately apparent.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • A professional and resourceful work method; the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative, and to manage multiple tasks and projects at a time.

Schedule and work environment

  • This position is both in office with some on-call hours in the evening (usually between 5-7pm) and follows our production schedule along with very occasional weekend hours.
  • Some travel required for off-site meetings and events.
  • Primarily within an open office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Possibility to work some hours remotely after at least a 6 month onboarding period.
