Residential Specialist - gain experience

Eastway Behavioral Healthcare is the largest, private, not-for-profit provider of mental health, substance abuse, housing, residential, and educational services in the Miami Valley.  Eastway has child and adolescent residential facilities located in Dayton, Washington Court House, and Columbus, Ohio.     Eastway is hiring for Residential Specialist to work at these locations.  This can be either full time on 2nd and 3rd shifts OR part time on all shifts. Part time staff normally work the same 8 hour shifts as full time staff.

The Residential Specialist will be responsible for adhering to the daily activity schedule while providing quality, effective, and efficient therapeutic interventions to the children/adolescents in residence. The ideal candidate must be at least 21, caring and empathetic person who understands the high prevalence of traumatic experiences and have an understanding of mental health and substance abuse issues. This position will include interacting with the kids including providing direction, playing games and completing activities.

This role is a great way to gain experience working with clients in residential care for behavioral health.   This position can promote into positions including a shift leader, recreation specialist, and case manager.  

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license, car insurance, and safe driving record desired.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School diploma/GED or above.   College course work in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or psychology is preferred.
• This position requires candidates to pass Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training, which requires individuals to be physically capable of sustained, intense exertion.
