CSX Stakeholder Engagement Internship - 2025 Summer (Paid)

CSX is seeking a dynamic and motivated Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability Intern to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in corporate communications, sustainability, and media relations. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, a passion for storytelling, and an eagerness to learn about the various facets of communications.

Internship Details:  

  • This is a 10 Week Summer Internship Program starting on May 27, 2025 and ending August 1, 2025.
  • Interns are expected to be in Jacksonville for the duration of the program.
  • Daily work schedule is hybrid or onsite.  Fully remote is not an option. 
  • CSX provides optional intern housing for the duration of the 10-week program, as long as the selected intern meets eligibility criteria 
  • Competitive hourly pay  

 

Job Responsibilities

Content Creation

  • Assist in the development and creation of engaging content for internal and external communications, including newsletters, and social media updates.
  • Support the creation of presentations, speeches, and other communication materials for senior leaders.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather information and create compelling stories that align with the company's mission and vision.

Internal Communications

  • Support the development and execution of internal communication strategies to enhance employee engagement and alignment with company goals.
  • Assist in organizing and promoting internal events.
  • Draft and edit internal newsletters, announcements, and other communication materials.

Media Relations

  • Monitor and track media inquiries and requests
  • Build and update media lists and databases
  • Assist in the drafting of monthly metrics report
  • Assist with updating message library, press release, and statement archive.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related major field of study from an accredited institution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Anticipated graduation within a year after the end of the internship

 Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Successfully complete a background check and drug test
