Photographer Internship-Lincoln Journal Star
The Lincoln Journal Star is seeking applicants for our full-time paid photo internship starting from January through June 2025.
The intern will work with the photo staff to cover news, features, as well as college and high school sports. The ideal candidate is passionate about visual journalism, takes initiative, and is accurate, creative, and reliable. The ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and effectively communicate with the news and photo staff are musts. Experience with video is a plus.
A full set of Nikon equipment will be provided, along with pool lenses and a working computer with Adobe software. This position pays $15/hour, and current or recently graduated college students are preferred. Working outside, sometimes in extreme weather situations in addition to having reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license is required.
Home to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the state Capitol, Lincoln is a vibrant and growing city of approximately 300,000 people. The city offers excellent entertainment and outdoor recreation opportunities.
