News Internships-Lincoln Journal Star
Internships with the Journal Star are open to talented, web-savvy writers interested in working closely with the online desk and public safety reporters. In addition to covering breaking news and generating general assignment stories, interns assist reporters in covering news events for the web — live tweeting, shooting live video, writing quick, meaningful updates, and searching for unique ways to present content online.
The Lincoln Journal Star has several newsroom intern openings for the 2025 spring, summer and fall semesters. Hours include weekends and evenings. We pay interns up to $15/hour.
• Spring internships: begin the first week of January and end mid-May, part time (10-18 hours/week).
• Summer internships: begin mid-May and end mid-August, full time (40 hours/week).
• Fall internships: begin mid-August and end in December, part time (10-18 hours/week).
