Salary: $47,736+ dependent on qualifications and experience
Job Summary: The Multicultural Center (MCC) is a vibrant hub for refugees, immigrants, and the broader community to gather, attend classes and workshops, and build connections. As we move into a new location with an expanded vision, the Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the MCC. This leadership position requires a strategic and creative thinker who can manage operations, develop programming, and cultivate partnerships that further the MCC’s mission of fostering connection, innovative programming, and belonging for all.
Key Responsibilities
Vision & Strategy:
- Lead the development and implementation of a fresh vision for the MCC’s new space, aligning it with community needs and organizational goals.
- Work with stakeholders, staff, and community members to create an inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Collaborate with leadership to set long-term goals for the MCC’s growth and impact.
Programming & Operations:
- Oversee the creation and execution of diverse, high-quality programs that serve refugees, immigrants, and the broader community.
- Develop and implement operating systems to ensure the smooth running of the center, including scheduling, logistics, and facility management.
- Monitor program effectiveness and make data-driven adjustments to enhance services and meet community needs.
Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage the MCC’s budget, ensuring the responsible allocation of resources.
- Create fundraising strategies to secure financial support through grants, donations, and community fundraising events.
- Identify and pursue new revenue streams to support center growth and sustainability.
Staffing & Leadership:
- Lead the recruitment, hiring, and training of MCC staff and volunteers.
- Provide ongoing supervision, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to foster a high-performing team.
- Build and maintain a positive, collaborative work environment that values diversity and inclusion.
Community Engagement & Partnerships:
- Cultivate and sustain partnerships with local organizations, government agencies, and community leaders to enhance programming and outreach.
- Serve as a public representative for the MCC, building strong relationships with community members, donors, and stakeholders.
- Develop marketing and outreach plans to raise awareness of the MCC’s mission and services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in community development, nonprofit management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of three years of experience in community center management or a similar role.
- Proven track record in developing and managing programs, operations, and staff in a community-based organization.
- Strong experience in budgeting, fundraising, and partnership building.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- A creative and strategic thinker who can implement effective solutions and adapt to evolving community needs.
Licenses/Certifications: Must have a driver’s license and good driving record.
Physical Demands
- Moderate physical activity, which includes standing, sitting, lifting and/or walking.
- Ability to see within normal parameters.
- Ability to hear within normal parameters.
- Requires local travel to meetings.
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
Environmental Factors: Work is primarily indoors in a climate-controlled building.
Contact with Others: Position involves regular contact with resettlement network affiliates; local, state, and federal government agency employees, private sector organizations, ECDC/MCC VT staff and community members.
