Assistant Editor
About the Role:
Corporate Insight (CI) is looking for a talented and motivated full-time Assistant Editor to join our Editorial team. CI is a research and consulting firm that provides actionable competitive intelligence on the digital customer experience. We publish in-depth research on online/mobile banking, investing, insurance, retirement and emerging areas like fintech and digital advice. We are currently operating on a hybrid model where team members will be expected to work at our Midtown Manhattan office part of the time.
The Editorial team is responsible for copy- and content-editing all of CI’s published deliverables as well as project-based consulting work. As our research focuses on the web and mobile user experience across sectors, we seek candidates who are conversant in a range of relevant fields and are eager to learn. The ideal candidate will be interested in different styles of editing and will be able to contribute to ongoing collaborative brainstorming and debates around diction, grammar and writing enrichment strategies.

Responsibilities:
- Editing CI’s industry publications for content, grammar, clarity, accuracy and formatting
- Collaborating with the Editorial team on companywide writing enrichment workshops
- Helping to develop writers and apply company style to a range of deliverables
Requirements:
- BA/BS in English, journalism or a related field
- 1-3 years of editing experience (college-level experience included)
- Interest in online user experience, web/mobile design and criticism
- Interest in financial services
- Familiarity with editorial styles, particularly Chicago and AP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with a focus on editing in Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to juggle multiple projects within tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
Preferred qualifications and skills:
- Coursework related to finance
- Experience tutoring in a writing enrichment program
- Published writing in print or online
- Experience writing or editing blogs
- Familiarity with publishing and/or content management platforms such as SharePoint
