Job Summary:

Morton Salt's Rittman, OH location has an immediate opening for a Millwright. The right individual will be responsible for repairing or constructing all types of equipment and structures throughout the plant and office. Journeyman certification, or equivalent, required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works from complex drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions given by the supervisor.
• Takes care of all mechanical breakdowns anywhere in the plant.
• Maintains and repairs all types of conveyors, elevators, filters, blowers, vacuum pans, screens, etc.
• Performs routine equipment inspections as required.
• Reports and damage to machines or equipment or spoilage of material to immediate supervisor.
• Responsible for maintaining his/her and company tools and equipment in good operating condition and for keeping work area neat, clean, and orderly.
• May be required to do other duties related to the job.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
• Journeyman certification, or equivalent training/experience, required.
• Competent in the use of millwright and welding equipment.
• Qualified in rigging and handling heavy equipment, brazing, soldering, and cutting.
• Some knowledge and skill in other maintenance crafts.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

• Frequent bending, stooping, turning, walking, reaching, feeling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 65 lbs.
• Occasional twisting, climbing, crouching, and kneeling.
• Frequent hearing and color vision.
• Constant seeing (near and far), depth perception, and speaking clearly.
• Frequent exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, humidity, heights, wetness, confined spaces, fumes, gases, detergents, solvents, and exposure to burns.
• Constant exposure to temperature changes, dust, chemicals, and mechanical hazards.
• Eye protection, hearing protection, head covering, and foot protection required.
