Chemical Engineering and Materials Science Intern
AETC is looking for chemical engineering and materials science interns for the summer of 2025. This internship is paid and in-person, with the student being required to commute independently and work at our Wheeling, IL location. The intern will primarily be working on chemical process design, battery chemistry, and lab-bench powder materials science research. Other projects may include P&IDs, technical writing, and other ad hoc assignments. Work at AETC is very hands-on -- applicants must be comfortable in a laboratory and on their feet.
Prior work experience in a similar field is not required, but encouraged. Applicants should have a thorough understanding of general chemistry, process engineering, materials science, and electrochemistry. Since a portion of our work involves governmental projects, US citizenship / permanent residency is a requirement for consideration of employment.
Applicants will be evaluated on a rolling basis. Selected candidates will also be given priority for AETC's future employment positions.
