Description

Are you looking for a rewarding career making a difference for animals and the people who love them? The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is now seeking a full-time Corporate Philanthropic Advisor – Northern Campuses to join our growing development team! The position reports to the Associate Director of Corporate Philanthropy and requires a regular presence in the WHS Green Bay and Door County Campus communities and other campuses as needed with the opportunity to work in a hybrid format. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build and manage a growing corporate relationship portfolio of approximately 100 major corporate giving prospects with a focus on Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay area businesses.
  • Strategically connect WHS programs and operations with corporate relationships in Brown and Door Counties to foster awareness, identify partnership potential, and cultivate major corporate gifts.
  • Organize and facilitate corporate group engagements, including public speaking presentations, campus tours, and group volunteer opportunities to deepen connections and inspire corporate philanthropy.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate partners throughout the giving cycle.
  • Engage corporate relationships with WHS major fundraising events, submit sponsorship applications, and secure major event sponsorships.
  • Assist in managing third party and in-kind donations from corporate partner organizations and collaborate with WHS maintenance and operations staff to secure logistics.
  • Participate as a member of the development team in planning and implementing the organization’s overall fundraising strategy and programs.
  • Utilize database software, Raiser’s Edge, to track donor information and generate fundraising reports.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills and experience building meaningful relationships.
  • Background in fundraising, marketing, nonprofit, sales or related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience using a donor database preferred.
  • Ability to strategically leverage relationships to inspire philanthropic support.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to initiate and facilitate engagement with donors, including calls, meetings, and corporate volunteer opportunities.
  • Commitment to WHS mission, values, goals, and people-centered philosophy.

About Us

The Wisconsin Humane Society is the oldest and largest shelter in Wisconsin.  Founded in 1879, WHS operates shelters in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Kenosha, Door, Brown, and Kenosha Counties, as well as a Spay/Neuter Clinic in West Allis. The organization offers adoption services, youth and outreach programs, veterinary resources for the community, retail stores, volunteer programs, and dog training classes. The Milwaukee shelter also houses the state's busiest Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
