Technology Coordinator

Job Summary: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by providing direction and leadership in the use of technology to support student learning and management of school through technology, digital resources, and digital systems. Ensuring the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the school district’s technology, digital resources, and digital systems. Ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal laws in accordance with school district policies and procedures.

Description: This position provides leadership, support, and direction regarding technology resources that support our school sites. The technology coordinator is responsible for overseeing the teams that provide direct support to the school sites; reviewing school program technology needs in partnership with principals and district leaders to move our strategic work forward around next generation learning; and collaborating with other technology coordinators to ensure our technology is meeting the needs of our organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Assess needs, plan, coordinate, and manage technology resources, digital resources, and digital systems.
  • Monitor the configuration, capacity, availability, continuity, and security of all systems; take action or manage responses as necessary.
  • Monitor compliance with service level agreements, relevant state and federal regulations, and school district policies and procedures.
  • Select, train, supervise, and evaluate, staff; for the purpose of building and maintaining a high performing work team and a positive & productive work environment.
  • Develop and manage department budget
  • Support administrative uses of technology resources, digital resources, and digital systems to enhance the school district’s ability to make informed decisions about its progress on strategic priorities and objectives.
  • Provide consulting services to school sites on their utilization of technology, digital resources, and digital systems
  • Conduct needs assessment as necessary.
  • Coordinate technology services to maximize their effectiveness for school improvement.
  • Develop plans for projects that deliver outcomes on time and on budget and provide for timely communication of status to the Director of Technology and other stakeholders.
  • Identify, select, and coordinate vendor and consultant services.
  • Ensure that employees are trained to use technology, digital resources, and digital systems efficiently and effectively.
  • Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associates of Arts AND Certified Education Technology Leader Certification (CETL)
  • Demonstrated successful project management experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in educational technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience
  • Masters Degree
  • Certified Education Technology Leader Certification (CETL)
  • Experience with K-12 technology
  • Experience leading K-12 technology initiatives
  • Proficiency in a language other than English (Spanish, Somali, Hmong, Vietnamese)

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:  

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of technology systems design and operation.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of instructional technology design, resources, and operations
  • Advance knowledge of technology and digital resource asset management
  • Advance knowledge of service desk design and management
  • Advanced knowledge of software systems for creation and maintenance of end-user documentation and other technical support resources.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulations related to data privacy and security.
  • Advanced knowledge of data reporting requirements of federal and state departments of education and other agencies.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and oral form.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively

Job Type:  ExemptFull-Time, full-year, 12 month position 225 duty days.

Bargaining Unit:  Management Personnel I-M  (Supervisor)

Salary Range:  $105,123 / $125,398
