Strategic Summary and Key Functions

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative, highly motivated, and experienced undergraduate to join the Quantitative Biosciences department at our West Point, PA site for a summer internship. In this lab-based role, the candidate will work under the mentorship of a Senior Scientist to independently conduct experiments to characterize and validate an organoid model to support our vaccine discovery portfolio. The successful candidate will focus on optimizing methods for sample collection and/or analysis to enhance model/assay reproducibility. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals to learn & execute advanced 3D cell culture and assay development skills for various readouts.

 

The ideal candidate will be currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology, or related discipline and will have prior mammalian cell culture experience. Additional hands-on experience with immunoassays, particularly ELISA and/or Luminex, and an understanding of adaptive immunity are also preferred. We highly value creative-thinking, teamwork, and independent analytical problem solving. Education

Current undergraduate student pursuing a B.S. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology, or related discipline

Must have completed coursework covering fundamentals of chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, and/or immunology

 

Required

Must be able to commit to work a full 10–12-weeks on site in West Point, PA beginning June 2025

Superior technical competency demonstrated by academic record

Experience with mammalian cell culture

Willingness to collaborate and network across disciplines and functional areas, as needed, to fulfill objectives

Willingness to adhere to all requisite lab safety protocols

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

 

Preferred

Prior experience with immunoassays (ELISA)

Eagerness to learn and implement laboratory automation (robotics, liquid handling, etc

 

 

Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected salary range:

$39,600.00-$105,500.00
