Benefits Administration Associate

Please note: Start date is Summer 2025. Early starts may occur based on business needs. 
 

How you will make an impact 

The Associate works on a variety of client service projects under the supervision of more experienced consultants and with appropriate client contact.  These services include pension benefit calculations, speaking to plan participants over the phone, payment processing, and special projects, all at the level appropriate to the individual’s knowledge and experience.  The primary focus at the Associate level is to “Do” the work efficiently and effectively, with an eye towards improving processes.

 

  • Handles the preparation of pension benefit calculations. Includes receiving and reviewing data to ensure accuracy
  • Has email and telephone contact with clients on data and administrative matters
  • Responsible for speaking with participants over the phone in a professional manner and documenting such calls
  • Prepares pension benefit packages and other communications
  • Prepares employee benefit statements
  • Assists in the preparation of letters for missing information to ensure proper document for payments
  • Works directly with Trustee to process payments
  • Logs quotes/deliverables and saves all participant communication in compliance with record retention policy
  • Assists with special projects or assignments as instructed by your supervisor/manager
  • Properly handles data securely and encrypt electronic deliveries as required
  • Assist Account Executive in providing timely reports of number of calls/calculations and other needed billing information


About you

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year College 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong call center skills, including multi-tasking
  • Ability to grasp and familiarize oneself with benefit/pension terms and concepts quickly
  • Strong math and computer skills; proficiency in Word, Excel or applicable software applications
  • Strong organizational skills/time management
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a client team while also independently completing assigned tasks
  • Exhibits true ownership and pride in work product
  • Offers fresh ideas to tried-and-true approaches, while also learning when to accept direction
  • Retains information well
  • Asks insightful questions and applies knowledge to future situations


Preferred:

  • Professional certification preferred
