Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and professional Associate Attorney to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will have up to two (2) years of experience, a passion for civil litigation, and a strong desire to contribute to a collaborative team.  This role requires experience in or a commitment to practicing civil litigation, including regular court appearances and motions practice.  The role also offers the opportunity to work closely with seasoned attorneys and engage in a diverse range of legal matters.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including court appearances, depositions, mediations, settlement negotiations, and motions hearings
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients with a warm and professional demeanor
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on various legal issues to support case strategy
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, motions, contracts, and agreements
  • Maintain regular communication and strong client relationships through effective and regular updates about their legal matters
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case preparation, trial strategy, and settlement negotiation
  • Participate in client consultations and provide guidance based on legal expertise
  • Manage a caseload with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and legal developments

 

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of Georgia
  • Dedicated interest in civil litigation practice

Skills

  • Strong research, writing, analysis, and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple cases and deadlines in an organized and timely manner
  • Experience with courtroom appearances or a demonstrated interest in trial work
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to adapt to changing legal environments and case demands

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Up to two (2) years of experience in a civil litigation law firm
  • Familiarity with case management programs (e.g., Clio, MyCase, etc.)
  • Familiarity and proficiency with LexisNexis or WestLaw
  • Membership in relevant legal associations or bar sections

 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary ($80,000-$115,000) commensurate with experience
