Management Analyst III

Job Announcement

This position works as a part of the Material Management Division. Assists the division director in management of a broader scope of business and logistical operations within the division’s material management programs. Works as a member of the Material Management team, under the general direction of the Division Director, this position's duties include full support of property accounting, disposition of material, training, surplus property and systems support. Manages inventory management personnel, reviewing/updating relevant policies, processes and procedures. Advises leadership on projects and potential risks to the daily operations of inventory management. Ensures inventory personnel are maintaining certifications, educating and training personnel in safety, records management, laws, policy, and regulations in applicable fields. Other responsibilities will include coordinating plans for emergency management exercises and real-world events in accordance with DPMM and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) objectives. Supports the EOC training and exercises as needed. Supports and assists with coordinating the department s yearly update to the Multi-Year Integrated Preparedness Plan. Coordinates the evaluation and updating of the department s emergency management program. Updates and responds to the DPMM portion of the County's Continuity of Operations Plan under guidance from the Material Management Division Director. Liaise with Department of Emergency Management and Security as needed when directed by DPMM leadership.

Note: The assigned functional areas of the position are Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and/or Emergency Management.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in field related to the assigned functional area; Plus four years of professional work experience with in the functional area.
 
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED: 
None.
 
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
The appointee to the position must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to manage and lead personnel, manage programs, collect and analyze data for reports and communicate those conclusions.
  • Ability to use sound judgment in making independent decisions.
  • Knowledge of government property management and auction practices and policies.
  • Knowledge of property management and warehouse practices, and methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other PC-based programs.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
Job is generally sedentary; however, lifting up to 50lbs. and stooping may be required during random inventory spot checks. Job is required to manage personnel, administrative work, read and interpret reports and facilitate programs. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
