STEM Intern

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce is a diverse team of passionate, education-focused professionals responsible for overseeing and enhancing the quality of education for each of Ohio’s 1.7 million students. The Department is committed to collaborating with schools, districts, educators, students, families, businesses, nonprofits and all stakeholders to achieve our educational goals.

The intern would be responsible for helping the STEM Team with the following tasks.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

• Examining and analyzing policy with an eye toward changes and improvements that need to be made to improve clarity around STE(A)M designation, re-designation, and expectations of STE(A)M schools.
• Compiling a database of research studies relevant to STE(A)M education
• Tasks to improve efficiency within the STEM team including organizing SharePoint, assistance with obtaining compliance documents for schools, and updating the master list of STE(A)M school contacts
• Finding relevant conferences and assisting with the creation of proposals for presentations
• Participating in cross-office and stakeholder meetings to provide insight and share ideas

$20.00 per hour for undergraduate students

$24.00 per hour for graduate students
