Summer Associate Internship (Mortgage Records Management Specialist)
Mortgage Records has the responsibility to maintain and track the inventory of critical mortgage documents (Notes, DOT’s, etc.) in both physical and electronic format while ensuring their accuracy, quality, and integrity according to Investor, State, Federal and NFCU guidelines and requirements. They manage critical documents from loan closing to disposition, including the Satisfaction of Lien Releases on loans paid in full. Mortgage Records must adhere to safeguarding of information, retrieval of data/documents effectively, and company and investor records retention regulations.

Work under direct supervision. Participates in basic research/review with narrow scope.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2025 and ending in August 2025. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or later.
Responsibilities
- Assist Supervisor with data collection and analysis projects as assigned
- Manage, prep and file incoming notes and deed of trusts
- Image/scan critical documents
- Determine whether Notes conform to guidelines and requirements and resolve issues - Narrow scope
- Review scanned mortgage documentation and index the image into the appropriate document type
- Review system of records and update mortgage loan servicing system confirming receipt of original documents
- Accurately index terminal digit mortgage documents in sequential order for efficient lookup and review
- Obtain and prepare documentation to complete daily status reports for management - Narrow scope
- Return original notes stamped paid in full, recorded security instruments and recorded satisfaction documents to member; ensuring compliance with state regulations
- Ensure original, copy, or electronic documents are sent to member at the time of payoff during the lien release process
- Resolve escalated member issues and problems - Basic research/review
- Reconcile lien release transmittal reports - Narrow Scope
- Examine and research paid in full loans requiring release that are on hold or missing images
- Close opened mortgage servicing tasks as necessary - Narrow scope
- Research, analyze, and resolve issues related to documentation
- Monitor and respond to various queues/queries via email and/or phone
- Format reports for document release requests for efficient retrieval
- Perform other duties as assigned
