Overview
We are seeking a dedicated High School Teacher to join our team and inspire students to achieve academic success. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and possess strong communication and mentoring skills.

Social Studies/History Teacher

The Okemos Public Schools is accepting applications for an outstanding Social Studies educator.  The ideal Okemos School Social Studies teacher candidate will facilitate Social Studies and/or History instruction to a diverse group of students.

Qualifications:

Secondary teaching certification with a History or Social Studies or Endorsement (CC or RX)

Must be highly qualified to teach high school history or social studies.

Connects well with parents/guardians/caregivers from a variety of diverse backgrounds.

Professional, collaborative, and collegial problem solver.

Regular and reliable attendance

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working with high school students.

Ability to collaborate with colleagues.

Growth and asset-minded . . .

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in differentiated instruction and utilized multiple teaching methods.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
- Develop engaging lesson plans in line with the curriculum
- Educate students on various subjects using creative teaching methods
- Provide academic advising and support to students
- Mentor and guide students in their academic journey
- Implement effective teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience
