What the day will look like 

Catastrophe Data Modeling Analysts at Aon play an integral role in providing analytics support on risk assessment and risk management consulting for Aon Reinsurance Solutions. They use financial models to design and manage catastrophe reinsurance programs and are given the space to create their own professional reports and data visualizations to clearly communicate findings to internal and external clients and partners. As we help them grow their skills and knowledge, they become effective in assisting with client preparation work, such as creating presentations, proposals, and take pride the in accuracy and integrity of their work. Our colleagues: 

 

  • Running catastrophe modeling software for client and prospect portfolio risk analyses 
  • Preparing property insurance policy data for catastrophe risk analysis using SQL Query Analyzer and other data conversion tools
  • Using financial models to design and manage catastrophe reinsurance programs
  • Creating professional reports and visualizations to clearly communicate findings to internal and external clients and partners
  • Responding to brokers, clients, and reinsurers on issues and questions relating to risk analysis for natural and human-made catastrophes
  • Providing real-time loss estimates of actual catastrophic events
  • Preparing and sending catastrophe risk assessment data to reinsurers and participating in reinsurance market calls
  • Enhancing our clients’ understanding of catastrophe risks, sensitivity studies and added analytics based on catastrophe model results

In this role, they also have experience programming with SQL, R or Python and have practical experience with data analysis, clean-up and validation in a work or academic setting. With the opportunity for temporary or permanent relocation to another Aon office, if desired, this role offers considerable career advancement. 

 

Qualifications 

Applicants should graduate between Spring 2024 to Spring 2025 and have a GPA of 3.0 or above. A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with majors in Economics, Finance, Math or another similarly quantitative/analytically oriented major or equivalent experience preferred.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary for this position is $71,500 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location
