TUSD Title: Lending Library Associate / Cataloger #8516

 

SUMMARY

Library Cataloging Specialist - Ensures all library materials and books are processed.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS for Library Cataloging Specialist

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Completion of at least one cataloging class.
  • One (1) year working in a library.
  • Four (4) years of "original cataloging" experience. ("Original cataloging" means creating records for books and audiovisual materials not available on any online databases, using a decision/ruled-based approach to constructing a cataloging record.)
  • Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal Classification Principles, the Sears Subject Headings, the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules, and the ALA filling rules.
  • Transcripts or official diploma must be presented at the time of hire.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE

  • FBI fingerprint background check.
  • Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

 

COMMENTS:

  • Library Cataloging Specialist Pay Range $17.27 to $20.05/hour
  • Effective: 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR
  • Location: Fine Arts
  • Classification: White Collar
  • FTE: 1.0 - 8 hours per day
  • Work Calendar: 12 month
  • Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
